On average; How much does an Investor Relations Assocciate make USD annually?

I am not sure of what an Investor Relations Associate does.  However, a Branch Office Administrator at Edward Jones makes between $10 - $15 per hour.  This person does all of the customer relations, marketing, customer service, transfers, paperwork, etc.  The only thing they do not do is recommend specific stocks to the client

As a field, investor relations is absolutely blowing up in america.  Investor Relations used to be staid, backoffice type of work...fielding phone calls from investors wanting copies of annual reports, or issuing bland press reports announcing earnings and stuff like that.

but now, there's a whole cottage industry of investor relations consulting comprised of small to midsized players like Ashton Partners (based in Chicago) to the IR departments of the world's largest PR firms.  You can look at IR nowadays as Financial Public Relations.  So even PR firms which have historicaly zero experience in financial matters are now heavily involved in this work.  They help market equity and other offerings for companies by working to educate potential investors.  they do this by taking companies on road shows, so they can have captive audiences made up of institutional investors.  they also work the phones and do all different kinds of analyses supporting the veracity of their claims and the offerings themselves.  

An IR associate w/a couple years experience can probably expect to make $80 to $100K....more if you live in NYC.  that's just my best guess though.   it could be more like $65K..even in a city like chicago.  but they are looking to hire more and more MBA and CFA types, which means they are paying higher salaries.  these compnaies are growing very quickly, and are paying for the talent to make it happen.
