  1. I work at an optometrist's office in Canada and an adult eye exam is $70. If you are thinking about trying contact lenses I highly recommend that you visit an optometrist. They can fit you for the best brand of contact lenses for your eyes. Buying contact lenses online without the correct size determined by an optometrist is a HUGE no-no. You can cause serious damage to your eyes if the lenses do not fit you correctly. Hope this helps.

  2. without insurance, it will be at least $100. I used to work an optometrist at Costco and it was $110. That's about the cheapest you'll find.

I shouldn't tell you this, but you can order contacts online without a prescription. all the sizes are pretty much the same. they might just feel tight and be hard to take off if they're too small, and move around if they're too big. I've worn several different sizes and never noticed a difference. Since you're not wearing them for correction, you shouldn't have too hard a time. You might have a hard time learning to put them in and take them out without a doctor's help though... and be sure not to wear them too much or you can really hurt your eyes.

  3. Usually it doesn't cost anything if you're covered by a medical claim. For instance Medicare.unless you see a private optomitrist. Unless you need to get glasses or contact lenses that would be the only thign to cost you. but for a appointment and just a check up usually the medical claim covers you for it unless as i said you see a private optomitrist.
