On average how much rain does NC get every year?

The wettest and driest locations in the state are both in the western part of the state in the mountains.  The wettest location received about 90 inches a year, while the driest location receives about 37 inches a year.  On average, most locations east of the mountains see between 40-55 inches a year.  See the second link below for a map.
