A normal commission is 6% or 7% for a full service companies.  It can go down substantially but you're probably going to get below average service for the lowest level commission.   You should consult the National Association of Realtors for a recommendation for a professional.   Specifically for a home, look for a CRS which stands for Certified Residential Specialist.   Its like getting a CPA to do your taxes rather than a book-keeper.   Your home is probably your most valuable asset so protect your money and find the best agent rather than simply comparing commissions.

and sometime there is a 1% difference depending on what has been worked out. But to answer your question 9 times out of 10 its a total of 6%
