On cannon pixma mp610 printer

on cannon pixma mp610 printer messge on the printer says inner cover is open.close inner cover and press ok. I did that and pressed reset and still get this message. Cover is closed and I cannot get the printer to print. I did replace black ink tank yesterday and the light that all is well with the ink lamp is lit
