On cusp of another elimination against Boston Celtics, LeBron James says he is ready – NBA Playoffs Update
It’s a familiar situation for LeBron James to be in. He is on the brink of elimination from the NBA playoffs against the Boston Celtics, and the NBA’s Most Valuable Player says he is ready for the challenge.
James has been in the situation before, albeit with the Cleveland Cavaliers, twice. Back in 2008 and then in 2010, the Celtics defeated LeBron’s Cavaliers and sent him crashing out of the playoffs. This time they are threatening the same, against a Miami
Heat side that LeBron thought he would find shelter in.
That hasn’t happened, so the forward has braced himself for a season breaking game in Boston. He is heading to the same TD Garden, in another game-6, where his Cavaliers career came to an end. What happened in that game was followed by “The Decision”, and
a landscape change in the NBA.
James has deemed it appropriate that it’s come down to this. Him vs. the Celtics once again, and he is aware of how they have haunted him in the paste.
"I know how much pain this team has given me over the years," James said. "So I guess it's only right that we would be going up there in an elimination game. In order for us to keep our season going, we've got to win in their building. So that's what it's
about."
Rather than shying away from the challenge however, LeBron is looking forward to it. He has been through many trials and tribulations during his time in the NBA. He “Chosen One” has always been under scrutiny, he has always had pressure, and he knows now
that the only way to deal with it is to meet the challenge head on.
"No one said it was going to be easy," James said. "I'm looking forward to the challenge, me personally. I'm looking forward to it more than probably anyone on the team. So I'm going to lead these guys in the right direction, and hopefully it results in
us winning."
Game-6 of the Eastern Conference Finals will therefore be a cracking contest, as the veteran Celtics look to close out the series, while the wounded Heat fight to keep it alive.
