On dirtbikes, how do you "scrub" a jump?

when you hit the jump and don't go that high but still get the length. guys on t.v will go off doubles, two guys will shoot up in the air and land at the same time but a guy will come up from behind them, low ball the jump, make the landing and pass the other two while they are in the air because he didn't spend so much time in the air. how do you control you highness without losing length?

  3. It's all in the take off. The more you compress the suspension, the higher you can go. Basically, if you loosen your arms right at the apex of the jump, you can drop the front end and keep the bike lower to the ground. This has been in practice even before Bubba was born, although he an RC really perfected and promoted it better than riders in the past. Gary Bailey actually had a video from the early 80's showing the technique.
