Question:

On eBay, can I have a female model pose with the item I wish to sell?

I am trying to sell a musical instrument and am new to eBay, so everything I say in this question might sound silly to eBay pros.

When you search for an item on eBay, the search results each have an accompanying picture to the left of the item's title. I noticed that each picture shows only the item, a close-up of the item, or something to that effect. When I take pictures of my instrument which I intend to sell, can I have a model hold it in some sort of stylish fashion? Or does eBay forbid pictures with more than just the item?

  1. People can pose with things -- especially if you want the viewer to have an idea of how large or small the object is. In your description you are just describing the item. Heck, add "model not included" if you want to be cheeky -- humor sells!  :)

  2. As long as your photo is appropriate and accurately depicts the item being sold you are going to be just fine!

    good luck with eBay!

  3. Yeah you can do it. Most people take ONLY a picture of the item because if there is something else visible in the photo, a bidder may say "Is that included in the auction as well?" Also, some sellers just don't want their house/bedroom background to show up on eBay.

Using a model to pose will be fine, as long as she is ok with having herself all over eBay.

  4. nah, you can do that, its good bait cause if the woman is attractive you'll get more views and possibly more bidders

  5. of course you can i sell on ebay all the time and i have had my daughters or hubby pose with the item good luck

  6. They have models all the time, just dont make it too risquee and don't show faces.
