  1. Yeah my house was like $1.24

  2. yeah if no one else bids on it too

  3. That is just the opening bid, it does not mean it will sell for that much.  The auction most likely just started and has days still to run.  In theory if only one person were to bid it would have to sell for one cent BUT that NEVER happens and buyers start at .01 to get lots of bids and have it show on the hot items page or listings.

  4. yeah, but make sure there's no reserve (minimum price that needs to be met before they'll sell)

  5. I doubt that's a "Buy It Now".  I wouldn't use hair straightener that cost  1 cent.   It's probably made in China from industrial paint remover.

  6. yes,  it starts out as a bidding process with them hoping to raise the bid.  Ultimatley the person who listed may have a certain amount they want or they won't see it .  I think it's called a reserve. If the reserve is met, then they will sell if not they don't have to.  double check for shipping prices and insurance because they may require you to mail it and insure it a certain way so as to not damage the item.

  7. ya it is for real..sometimes they charge a large amount for shipping so watch out for that!

  8. no!

  9. They probably expect a large number of bids on it.

One thing most people don't know, however, is the seller can set a minimum price before they sell it, so if they set their wanted prices at 10 dollars and the bidding only makes it to 8, they do NOT have to sell it.

  10. Yes its real and it could stay that way if know one bids. But it is only usually when the bid first starts up. Good luck on your bidding Ebay is a sweet web site.

  11. If it doesn't have at "buy it now" option in blue that means that it is up for bidding so it will eventually go up higher. Make sure to read all the description too.

  12. ya. but theres shipping too probably

  13. opening bid, its an auction thing, pretty stupid

if you whant something cheap and used go to craigslist.com

you'll probalby find something there w/ out haveing to go through all of that auction c**p!

    --good luck!

  14. I'm guessing its just a  starting bid...

People might offer $1.00 and the price will keep going up. So, you'd most likely have to make a high bid to get it rather than someone else.

Hope this helped, and good luck! (:

  15. Then you got to pay like $5 for shipping.

  16. one cent auctions are actually very common. but i highly doubt they stay at that price.  it might have a reserve on it as well.

  17. there will probably be bids on it.  Most auctions last 5 days or 7 days.  So if you bid a penny, you will almost certainly get outbid .   Many bidders wait till the last second too.

So you might think you win the item for only a penny, and then two seconds before the auction ends, 5 people will bid and it will sell for ten bucks or something.

The seller knows this, and that's why they start it off for a penny. Ebay charges the seller less money if they start the auctions off really cheap.

  18. Yes,

I used to list items all the time for a penny, or many others for just a dollar with free shipping.  They do this to get the top of the "lowest prices" search page.

Other items start at a penny, but have a reserve price.

So it's either a reserve auction or a risk the seller is taking.  Chances are it won't go for a penny.  Also, examine the shipping charges to see if there's hidden profit there :)

  19. Yes, but usually that is just the opening bid. Also, you might want to read ALL the fine print make sure they're not just selling you a picture of the straightener or something.

  20. they usually start with that and it goes up, and if you really want it make sure your watching in the last few minutes its weird but people get really competitive for stupid things

  21. Its probably going to be a very bad straightener.

They will also most likley not really care about your purchase making it very long to recieve your item. Also, shipping and Handling prices will probably be high.
