on ebay who are all the people thats names are like a***4.....i have been bidding on ipod touches and everyone who bids on them, thier names are like that! are they compinies? thanks

ebay hides the identity of bidders to prevent scammers and other identity theives from getting their user id and sending them fake 'second chance offers' and other scams trying to get peoples money and information.

It is E Bay protecting the screen names of bidders.  Sometimes one bidder knows the other bidder and will not bid against them, or contact them off line. If you win, you find out the competition.

Ebay have allowed sellers to keep their bidders names private, so you really cannot see who is bidding. Its a con really so do a snip or get auction sniper software.

I think Ebay started protecting the identity of bidders.  I'm pretty sure your name shows up the same way to other bidders.
