On facebook, is it possible to set it up so that I don't get an email every time someone writes on my wall?

Once you sign in go to the right top corner and click on account and then click on notifications, i think it's the third tab. Then it should be one of the top choices.

Yes there are.

Go to account on the top right hand corner.

And click the third tab. there are loads and find the first one--facebook and there are :

Sends me a message  

Adds me as a friend  

Confirms a friendship request  

Writes on my Wall  

Pokes me  

click the button under 'No' for writes on my wall. you can set a lot of different things there. =]
