Question:

On kickoffs, why don't kickers just blast it out of the endzone in regular season games?

They are professional kickers. You know they can do it. In preseason they usually kick it out of the endzone. Wouldn't you want the other team to start on the 20 yard line every time and eliminate the chance for a kickoff return?

  1. bc if they do then the ball goes to the 40 yard line giving the other team more yardage

  2. you are incorrect if they could do it every time they would

  3. Trust me - if they can kick it out, they will.  The only reason a kick is not launched out of the end zone is wind and distance.  I played in a game once where our kicker put seven kickoffs through the uprights of the opposing team. It intimidated them.  He didn't do it every game because of conditions, not capabilities.  The best kickoff result is always "no return".
