  1. ok ill make it simple my good friend... 80Gb is like the speed of the computer will o the Higher the Gb the faster it will go. and the 2Gb memory is the amount of music, games or anything you would like to save on your laptop. if your looking for a fast device to save more stuff on or have it really fast iw ould get a computer because computers are now so cheep and easy to upgrade to you will have the best tech, laptops you can't really upgrade so if you do get a laptop which you would like to use for gaming or fast surfin on the internet, buy the top spec laptop you can find or ask a computer tech for advise on the best you can get for money. hope this all helps mate.

  2. The hard-drive is the place where the computer stores all the data it has on it. It's a bit like a library - it's where the computer reads all the information from. If nothing was on the hard-drive, then the computer would not even turn on.

The memory or RAM is where the computer stores temporary information. The larger the memory, the faster the computer (as a general rule). It's like the computers brain.

Assuming that you are maybe looking at a computer to buy, 80GB or hard-disk space is a good size as long as you don't plan to have lot's of movies/videos/games on the computer. 2GB of memory is a good size too - you should be able to run Windows Vista and most common programs/applications at a good speed. More than enough for everyday use such as web browsing and word processing.

    Hope this helps you!

  3. 80 gb Hardrive is how much you can store on you're PC(which i must add is absolutely c**p!)

And 2gb Memory means the amount of memory that's allocated to Boot-up you're Operating System and run all you're Applications problem free.

The bigger the Hardrive is the more you can store on it.

But if you kept the Memory at 2gb it wouldn't be able to keep up as it's now running below what is recommended to process the info on the Hardrive.

I know all this as i have a very Basic PC with 120gb Hardrive and a Ram of 512mg(but upgraded the memory to 1gb,..which isn't great, but better than nothing!;)

It still performs way below  what it should, but i know it's cause i have too much on my hardrive and the processor can't keep up.

So for my processor to not take all the strain that it's already under,..i bought an external herdrive with 320gb and now i store most of my Application's on there until i get a new PC.

I'm looking for something that at least has 500gb/1TB Hardrive and 2-3gb Memory that can be upgraded in the future to 4GB or more! ;)

    That's gonna cost me a few Hundreds,..so i'm keeping my options open,..for now ;)

  4. 80 gb is the amount of space that you have for storing things on you pc and unless you have a lot of stuff you need on your pc you will never use it all

2gb of ram is basically the amount of things you pc can do at a time and how well it doed it 2GB is very good and it would be hard to use all of this if you were not trying to.

  5. 80 GB (Gigabytes) is 80,000 Megabytes of storage on your harddrive.

Windows takes up about 3 GB of storage.

Ram is basically the speed of your computer, 2 GB of ram is a good speed.

  6. Memory is what it can do at once so 1gb memory does less than 2gb.

Harddrive is the amount of information that is stored on the laptop. So 200gb is a lot more space to store information than 2gb.

  7. 80GB hardrive is the memory of the laptop i.e. how many things you can store.. (80gb is pretty good :D)

2GB is the speed of the laptop, i.e. how quickly it runs...the faster the laptop the better it is at doing multiple things, i.e. downloadin music, whilst surfing the net and conductin a virus scan... (2GB is amazing...one of the fastest speeds you can get) :D x*x

  8. The 2Gb is what's on your desk.  The 80Gb is what's in the filing cabinet.  You can only work with what's on the desk.

The bigger the memory, the more things you can do at once.  It also means you can work faster because the computer doesn't have to keep stopping to move stuff backwards and forwards.

  9. The hard drive is what you use to store things like music, pictures, documents etc. The memory, or RAM, as some call it, is the amount of memory that your computer has to do short term calculations on. In short, the more memory the better.

  10. The hard disk is the primary storage device on the system. The operating system (Windows) , all your applications and your personal files are stored there. Without the drive, you can't run the system.

The 2 GB memory is the random access memory (RAM), where the system does a lot of its work. When you start the system, open applications, open personal files, and generally do work, the data in use is often stored in the RAM area. RAM is faster than any other hardware storage, and it's where the CPU gets and stores data while the system is active (along with other hardware on the computer as well.

    That's the very basic explanation.

  11. 80gb is the storage capacity of the hard drive.

2gb is the capacity of the computer's RAM.

This machine sounds quite adequate for most purposes.

  12. Think of it like your checking account. You have $80 in your account and $2 in your wallet.

80 GB is how large your hard drive is, how much you can store on it. 2GB is what your computer has to run applications. Some take a little memory. some take a lot.

  13. It is the same for desktops also. A hard-drive is a place to store all your files and memory is just temporary storage for programs and Windows to use.
