I ordered shoes from an online retailer on 21 January, they took payment but have since sent me an invoice in which it states the shoes are discontinued and they have refunded me, I checked with my bank and they haven't and I've sent them two emails which they haven't replied to. I checked on their website to see if would take awhile to refund e.g. 3 to 5 working days but there nothing on there, is it too soon to contact trading standards?

  1. smell something fishy if they havent responded  by the weekend get on to it

  2. It's a little too soon to contact Trading Standards.

    Try emailing them again.

If you still do not receive a reply, check their web site for a postal address and then send them a letter by registered post.

You should keep a copy of the letter that you send for your own records.

If you still do not receive a response or refund, then contact Consumer Direct who will be able to assist you further.

If the value of the items that you bought exceed £100.00 and you paid on a credit card, then you should be entitled to a refund from your credit card company under the Credit Act.
