On loan Bolton star http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076 keen on Chelsea return
The 21-year-old Chelsea striker on loan to Bolton Wanderers, Daniel Sturridge, revealed he was looking forward to returning to Stamford Bridge as the end of the season approached.
With just two Premier League fixtures remaining, the current campaign will come to an end and Sturridge will be on his way back to the London side.
While the youngster admitted to having a good time at Bolton, he insisted he wished to return to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in the summer.
Sturridge joined Bolton in the January transfer window for the remainder of the season to make room for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 at Stamford Bridge.
Since joining the Trotters, Sturridge has been in terrific form, scoring seven goals in ten appearances in the English Premier League.
He believes he has done well to show Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti that he is capable of playing in the first team at the London club.
Sturridge said while speaking to reporters, “Hopefully next season the manager will see me working hard and give me the opportunities to play games as a striker. That's where I love to play. I am looking forward to coming back down next season and trying
to win a place.”
The main reason why Sturridge was loaned out to Bolton was to make room for the older, more experienced strikers.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Florent-Malouda-c13838 have all been having a tough time competing for a place in the starting XI.
There was no chance Sturridge would have stood a chance against them, the Italian manager felt it best to loan out the youngster to a smaller side where he would be guaranteed first team football.
Bolton was the perfect side and the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 under-21 international has made the best of his time away at the Reebok Stadium.
However, despite being offering a more permanent contract by Bolton boss Owen Coyle, Sturridge insisted he wished to return to Chelsea.
He continued, “I love playing for Chelsea, and I don't want to be anywhere else, but if I need to play somewhere else on loan again next season I will do. But my main aim is to fight for my place at Chelsea and begin starting games regularly in the first
team as opposed to sitting on the bench.”
The striker who joined Chelsea in the summer of 2009 from Manchester City for a fee of £3.5 million revealed he was willing to fight for a place in the Blues squad.
In his one and a half seasons at the London club, Sturridge went on to make 41 appearances in all competitions and scored nine goals.
The striker has proved he is capable of scoring more goals when given the opportunity and more central role like at Bolton.
Unfortunately for him, he had the role of a substitute at Chelsea, which has not been enough time for him to make a difference for his side.
