On local news... what is the easiest job that they try to make seem like it takes an expert instead of anyone?

weathermen.... they get the term "meteorologist"... and basically look at a the same Dolpar that we can see.

Basically, because of the net, do we even need local news weathemen? Are they even doing anything other than looking at doplar and then guessing?

traffic.... they hire someone to actually go up in a helicopter and give a report about slow moving rush hour traffic. First off.... If they need to send up a helicopter to look at traffic, why can't the pilot just call in if there are traffic jams?

& local news... they are reporting about a bunch of cars moving slow during a point in the day..... I bet those cars move by the time the traffic report is over.

local sports.... why are they even needed? unless they're talking about local highschool games, why do we need a local newscaster to recite yesterdays games?

co anchor??? I've noticed some anchors say "Bob has the day off" ..., if he has the day off and the news is doing fine, who needs em back?

There's plenty of money in news, they dont need to cut jobs. It makes the reports seem more professional when done by a person with experience. Don't judge their jobs till you have seen all the off camera stuff they do. Visit the studio sometime, they may even give you a shot at weatherman.

the guy in the helicopter is a job neither one of usw can do..reporting on the highways needs to be reported on ASAP..not later as you suggested...

It is the weatherman, if they can read the prompter, they can do the weather.

Where I live, the regular weatherman is on vacation, and the ditz who does the entertainment news is filling in for him, so it must be easy.
