  1. a cup is a cup..

    no matter liquid or dry

    what u makin me

    =)

  2. If you were making stew, for example, measuring isn't really critical. You can s***w around and adjust measurements to suit yourself.

However, baking is more of an exact science and there's not much room for error; if you adjust measurements the baked good might fail. I've got liquid measuring cups and dry measuring cups as well.

  3. I've never seen a recipe that specified the type of measuring cup to use - get the correct ingredient amounts into the recipe with whatever receptacle you prefer!

  4. Rule of thumb: Use measuring cups for your dry ingredients and liquid measuring cup for liquid ingredients.

  5. The only difference is that liquid measuring cups have a spout ... they're both exactly the same size

  6. A cup is a cup is a cup.  It does not matter much which you use, just remember that a dry measuring cup can be more exact than liquid measuring cups.

  7. Every kitchen should have both kinds of measuring cups.  For dry ingredients, always scoop the item into the measuring cup and level with the back of a knife.  Never scoop items such as flour, corn starch.  You will find a more consistent product using the method I just described.
