  1. it is what occurs at the bead of the tire and the rim. just a term for seating.  


  2. If it is a street tire your talking about cupping is the ware pattern. When a tire cups get a new tire

  3. Cupping is a bad thing, its not something that you do, it just happens with certain tires on certain bikes. Older generation Dunlops were notorious for cupping. I could cup one in 500 miles, giving me less contact patch, I stayed away from them for years. I think they finally beat the cupping with the 208.

    Cupping does not matter in racing, as you just bin your old tyres.
