On my 2 sided dvd side 2 wont work on my new laptop or a dvd player?

Do you mean an SD Dual Layer DVD (like a DVD9) or a hybrid DVD (has both SD and HD)?  This is an important distinction.

There is no reason for a Dual Layer SD disc to not work unless there is a scratch on the disc... The layers automatically switch from one to the next at the layer break so you would not be doing anything to make this switch.

IF its a hybrid disc and you only have an SD DVD player then of course the HD will not play in it.  

Read the box and find out.

Personally, I've never heard of a 2-sided DVD, but maybe its type isn't compatible with your laptop or DVD player?

2 sided dvds must not have any dust or scratches on it. you just have to clean the cd. use window cleaner or cd cleaner, then i should work.
