On my FAFSA my estimated Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is: 553 is that or good?

  1. It sounds good. The way it works is that they subtract the EFC from the estimated student budget. The budget includes what they figure you need to pay for school and to live depending on your housing status. Then they try to help you make up the difference.

That is very good.  You'll get to qualify for the pell grant, like me :-] as well as work study.  Mine was 440.  Last time mine was 8000 something and I qualified for only student loans and that was about it.  So just wait for your financial aid award letter from your school telling you what they're going to offer you.
