On Annie's box of mac and cheese there are two listings of calories, one with 260 calories and one with 280.

At first I thought "mix" meant the pasta with the cheese mix, but then I saw that "mix" was listed with fewer calories than "as prepared". What do they mean by the two listings?

  1. Mix: Just(the mix) what comes in the box

Prepared: After you add(prepare) what the instructions tell you to add Ex: Milk or butter

  2. The one for "mix" means just as it comes in the package before you cook it and add anything to it.  The one for "prepared" means how many calories there are after you add the milk and butter or whatever other ingredients it tells you to add.

  3. It should mean the following:

"Mix" is just the ingredients in the box.

"As Prepared" is the ingredients plus the stuff you add to it (milk, butter, etc...).

"As prepared" should have more calories than the "mix".
