On my camera i have 2 USB options PTP and mass storage what do they both mean?

can some1 help and when i use my usb cord they dont upload from my memory card only directly from the camera can some1 help?

You need to set your camera to mass storage.  Mass storage looks at your memory card as if were another hard drive.  You can use your computers file manager to copy files from it to your computers hard drive to any file fold your wish ... it is usually a good thing to make a new file folder for each shooting session named after the subject or event so you can easily find the photos later

    PTP is Picture Transfer Protocol a protocol designed to allow data transfer over any IP-based network.  This is rarely used to move images from the cameras memory card to the computer ... in fact, most users of digital cameras have long ago purchased card readers or use the card readers built-in to there computers to copy files directly from the card to the computer, keeping the camera out of the loop


  2. PTP is peer to peer, mass storage is the memory card. The camera will have a small memory, to let it perform the standard camera functions, so if you select PTP it will be to transfer the camera functions to your computer for back up purposes
