On my computer, how do I retrieve files that I deleted from the trash?

First, do nothing.  Every write to the disk may wipe out more of the deleted files.

Using another computer, download an undelete program, like Recuva.  Put it on a flash drive or CD and bring it to this computer.  Run the program (DO NOT install it, or anything, on this computer - it could install over one of your deleted files) and try to find your deleted files.

The longer it's been since you emptied the trash, the worse the chance of recovering them.

But to use the file recovery softwares to recover the deleted files,first you should install the software and then you can recover the files deleted after installation.Meaning,you can get file ,which were deleted prior to you file recovery software.

Well you may already have a recovering program in your computer. For example, my recovering program is named "Gateway Recovery Program" lol. Type in "recovery program" in your search bar on your computer. If you do have a program like this, then it will give you a very easy step by step process to recover the deleted files you need. I did this a few days ago when I accidentally deleted microsoft word. Goodluck!
