I believe the negative number has to do with the strength of the prescription (although I wouldn't know what a high/low number would be) but the others?

  1. BC base curve- curvature of eye (smaller base curves can be used for people who have difficultly getting lenses in because the lens is smaller)

    DIA diameter-diameter of eye

SPHERE- neg. or pos. prescription- they start at 0 and go up by quarter steps like -.25, -.50 for people who are nearsighted. the farther away from 0 the stronger the Rx. They can also go up like +.25, +.50 for people who are farsighted

a CYL or Axis would be included for people who wear Toric lenses or have an astigmatism

  2. it is  the perscription of the lenses

dia is the diameter of the lens

bc it the base curve in diopters

the higher the diopter reading the more power in the lens, so a -5 is more power than a -1.

  3. i wear contacts and i believe that the higher in negatives such as -2.5 is worse than -0.75 the higher in number the worse the vision, and I dont know what the letters stand for it could be some sort of labeling device when they make the product

  4. bc= base curve, curve of you eye

dia = Diameter of your eye

  5. size, diameter, dates, lots of things
