  1. you have a myopic eye in both eye and that was shown in minus

OD mean right eye ocular dexter and your right prescription is 4

OS mean left eye ocular siniset?? and your left prescription is 4.25

  2. The other answerer is correct.  O.D. is right eye and O.S. is left eye.  When Latin was a commonly used language it was believed that right handed people were dexterous and left handed people were sinister or evil.  That's where Oculus Dexter and Oculus Sinister comes from.  Just a little interesting trivia.

EDIT:  In response to Moona Lisa.  O.U. is from the Latin for Uculus Unitas.  That's where we get the word united.  Therefore, O.U. means both eyes together.

  3. *OD stands for Oculus Dexter - Latin for "right eye"

*OS stands for Oculus Sinister - Latin for 'left eye"

  4. katherine is correct.

    O.U. means both

  5. I will third Katherine M's Answer. Give her the ten! To the doctor, as for O.U. (oculus uturke?) or 'both eyes':

Do you know if that is the correct latin term, and what is the meaning?
