On new birthcontrol && haven't started period yet?

I started the NuvaRing a month ago on the 30th and i took it out on the 20th of aug as directed. I am suppose to start my period when i take it out,but i havent. I am worried, do you think it is possible for me to be pregnant?

  1. With NuvaRing, when you first take it out, it takes a couple of days to build up lining inside so that you can actually have your period. It is a possibility you could be pregnant, my doctor said it takes about a month for the birth control to start working. I wouldn't be too worried- just wait it out, and if you don't get your period at all during the week that its out, then there's a problem.

    NuvaRing will make your periods lighter, shorter, and a little delayed.


  2. Yes, pregnancy could be a possibility.  Also, sometimes when starting a new birth control method such as going on the Nuva Ring the period can be delayed while the body is trying to adjust to being on the medication (an example only).

    I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.
