On pokemon pearl im nearlake valor but people r standing in the way how do i get in lake valor??

i cant get in people r standing and saying we must protect the lake with someone called cyrus wat should i do???

ummn... i havent played that game in ages but i believe you have to beat one of the other two lakes before you can get to that one... if not then your just not far enough in the game
