Question:

On products that MAY contain gelatin?

will the label always say geletin , or can it sneak it in , liek with a big fancy word lol . like in cheese that has rennet, sometimes it says rennet other times it says enzymes

  1. If a product contains gelatine it will say so; sometimes it says "pork gelatine"...If products contain lecethin or pectin it's unlikely to have gelatine in it. Besides, after a while you get to recognise the foods that are likely to contain it, like marshmallows, chewy sweets, mousse etc


  2. ive been vegetarian all my life , as far as i know gelatin is pretty easy to avoid . Beware of 'gelling agent' though unless it has a bracket next to it stating that its vegetarian. =D

  3. A lot of chewing gum lists "Gum Base" as an ingredient, which sometimes has gelatin. The only way to know if it has gelatin is to contact the manufacturer. Other than that, I'm pretty sure it's always explicitly labeled as gelatin. Hope this helps!

  4. it usually says gelatin. When you see gelling agent, it's usually fruit pectin.
