I'm looking at a Rechargeable Double AA battery on my desk. And even through it doesn't bother me, (cause I know that the higher the number the more its going to last on a charge.) I've been wondering what the mAh stands for. the battery is a Energizer 2500mAh.

I have 3 sets of 2.....4 batties that are 2500. and 2 batteries that are 2300. I use the batteries mostly for my webcam. Whish require 2 batteries. I don't mix the Numbers cause that would be a no-no. :)

So what does mAh stand for?

  1. This stands for Milliamps Per Hour but that is about as much as I can tell you :-)

  2. it stands for milliamps sustained for 1 hour or (maH)/amp hour

This is the amount of current the battery is able to provide at level voltage for an hour.

mixing them is actually probably okay because in series the voltage is cumulative and very rarely are device's designed to use batteries in parallel.
