  1. I *THINK* what you mean is, should you put the written on/marked side of your speaker cables on the red or the black speaker terminal.

If that's what you mean, it doesn't matter, just make sure you do all your speakers the same.  i.e. if you connect the marked cable to the red input, make sure that you do the same for every speaker.

Otherwise your speakers will be out of phase as said above and will sound shocking.  I generally prefer to put the marked cable on the positive (red) input but it's only a matter of choice.

  2. not entirly sure of the question, trying to wire a speaker to a high-fi? if there is more than one speaker, as long as they are all wired the same way (writting is the positive wire on all the speakers) then it should be fine, this means they are "in phase" if you wire them and it sounds very "spacey" and unusual, they maybe out of phase and you would need to swap the conections on ONE of the speakers.

i think this is what you were getting at???

  3. Your question has been properly answered, but I do have a rule I use in all of the home theatre installations.  The writing goes on the red. wRiting=Red. R=R.  It does not matter, but by using this easy to remember "saying", I always do the same, and I never need to go back and check a wire.
