I took clomid 50mg 5-9 and just went in for my cd21 blood draw. The nurse called me back and told me that my level was 10 and I didn't ovulate but another nurse from the same doctors office called a second time and said that level does not mean I didn't ovulate and to wait and test for preg in a week! Now I am super confused can anyone help?

  1. They are looking at your progesterone level.  Progesterone rises after ovulation, so an elevated progesterone level confirms that ovulation took place.

A level of 10 for a medicated cycle is low.  They like to see 15 or higher for medicated cycles.  A level of 10 or higher for a NON-medicated cycle is acceptable.  I think you should call your doctor's office and speak to someone who knows what they are doing.

Also, CD21 only works if you ovulate on CD14.  Did you ovulate on CD14?  If not, the test may not be accurate.  Let's say you O'd on CD16, then you should test your progesterone on CD23.

Progesterone peaks at 7 days passed ovulation and that's when you should be tested.  Otherwise, your result isn't accurate.

If you weren't tested at 7DPO,  I would say your result could be questionable.

    Good luck.
