On the Collins project, wouldn't it have been obvious to the suppliers' people that one of the customer's ?

people was a fraud. To distract attention from themselves they would have needed to engineer all sorts of schemes. Small wonder that the quality of the project would show a J-curve. How would Machiavelli have approached the project ? (Machiavelli would assume one of his own people would be a fraud, and would somehow protect against this up front. But how ?)

  2. By giving everyone the sack and doing it all himself?  No really, he would have bugged everyone and everything, cameras, tracking devices, phone intercepts, the lot.
