On the Detroit Red Wings, why do so many players have reddish/ light brown hair?

Is there a relationship between where good hockey players are raised and bred, to where people tend to inherit that hair color? I was just curious, because it is much more noticable now, while they have their playoff beards grow in.

  9. Why, tis merely simple genetics. Perhaps a relative, like a mother or a father of sorts, had hair of a reddish/brownish pigment. And through the wonderful occurence of intercourse, a baby formed within the female counterpart, and inherited the genes of their parents.

    Or dye...who knows?
