I want to go to ivy league, or at least top 20 ranked colleges. Question is, is a 790 in chemistry good enough? And if I want to major in biology, this score won't prevent me from being allowed to major in bio right?

  1. 790/800.. that's amazing! the scoring is done by tens; i.e. 800, 790, 780, etc... so that is very good!

  2. shut up and stop being annoying. you know its a good score. its practically perfect. but on a side note, ivys reject so many people with perfect scores.. so its really not all about the scores. when all the applicants to a school are perfect, they are going to Have To reject some perfect people. so. your score is amazing, but u already know that and are being g*y fishing for compliments. you have as good of a chance as anyone to get into an ivy. its all about luck now...

  3. Out of 800? I'd say that's more than adequate...

The average for the chem test is only 630.

  4. first of all....do u realize that that's an amazing score?...lol...yes....that is more than good enough...and no this score won't prevent you from being allowed to major in biology because SAT II's are only meant to test you on the knowledge you have learned in specific classes(mostly core classes like science)...so since you got a high score in chemistry....it just tells them that you are good at chemistry....that's all..

also, chemistry classes are going to be a part of the biology major...especially if you want to go into medicine...so it's actually good that you took the chemistry test...

good luck with everything....i'm sure that you will get into one of the top 20...if not THE top one =)

  5. ok you seem reasonably intelligent and i would hope so if you have your eyes set on a ivy league school so seriously dude think... i know the percentiles are rough but a 790 in anything is a really good score.  I dont understand where your logic is coming from if you think this would in any fashion prevent you from majoring in biology. haha i would gladly take it i only got a 690 but i really didnt know what was on the test before i took it

  6. u need to die

  7. Since you know it is good, I am tempted to say it is not perfect.  When high scorers ask such questions, as a coach, I think - either they are dumb or they are showing off.  Good luck - after high scores, luck comes into play.  90% of the kids applying to ivy leagues get socres that are near perfect.
