  1. Paragraph comprehension tests your ability to rewrite in your own words what you just read, and possibly show understanding by answering questions about it.  Technically, the test is also upon your short term memory.

Word knowledge tests your level of vocabulary.  It is important, but not as important as paragraph comprehension.

Verbal expression tests your communication skills and understanding.  Not as important as one would think.  Concern yourself more with paragraph comprehension. The others should come easily.

  2. Paragraph comprehension gauges how well you retain knowledge from a written format. Think of it as reading a book/story, then being graded on how much of the information you retained.

Word Knowledge is simply vocabulary.. Or being able to deduce what the word means from its context.

Verbal expression is the reverse. It's a measure of how well you're able to relate your thoughts and knowledge in vocal form.

Which one's most important will depend a great deal on which job you're looking at.

  3. asvab measures aptitude, not knowledge.  They are each equally important since they are just seeing what skills you'd be best at aquiring.

  4. They all are most important...... OMG   Go here and read...... google ASVAB  you dont need to ask simular questions on the same subject.    BY the way mine was 95 way back then.
