On the first day of summer, what grade are you in?

If you just graduated from being a sophomore, during the summer are you a sophomore still or a junior?

Once your grades are final, and you have officially passed all your sophomore classes, then you are officially a junior.

If you take summer school classes to complete your sophomore requirements, then you are still a sophomore until those classes are graded and passed.

If you do not have classes during the summer, technically you should say "I will be a junior in the fall", not "I am a junior."

You're a Junior. If you graduated, that means you got out of being a Sophomore, and you became a junior.
