On the iphone how do i fast forward through music and video.?

i can bring up the menu with video but i have to run my fingers all over the screen...thanks

Touch the screen and that menu tab comes up. Look at the bar that shows the point the music is at at that time put your finger on the bar and drag the song to the point in the song you want to go but there is not proper button that has fast forward

it doesnt have a true fast forward. you just tap on the center of the screen while a song or video is playing and drag the bar to go to another place in the song or video. i would rather a true fast forward myself too
