Im on the pill for the first time, well ive had it for the last month. Im on my first 7day break from it and am due to start my next pack on friday. I came off the pill on friday and my period came saturday evening, for the past four days its been very heavy like a normal period and is now beginning to slow down. Im just wondering that this means im not pregnant doesnt it, because ive heard that some people have a period even when they are pregnant, but wouldnt that just be a really light one, like spotting? Im not saying that i think i am pregnant i just dont understand how you know you are when your on the pill. also me and my boyfriend have used condoms every single time aswell. no accidents, no exceptions and i have taken my pill religously everyday. x

  1. If you get pregnant when you are on the pill, you will not get your breakthrough bleed. It's as simple as that.

And if you take it correctly then you can assume you are not pregnant because it is extremely reliable.

  2. Pills are 99.5 % safe & together with condom ur 100% safe .i dont think ur pregnant . So relax

  3. I think your fine, but i can completely understand where your coming from. Im only on the pill to regulate my periods but i can imagine for the purposes your using it for that relying on your period as an indicator that your not pregant is a huge plus. I think from my knowledge that if you were pregnant you would only have very light bleeding or spotting as the hormones produced by your body would overlap the loss of hormones when not taking the pill, if you are still indoubt tho take a test just to put your mind at rest, i think your fine but im no doctor. :) xx

  4. it mean you had your period when you were suppose too. You will or should continuously get your period during that 7 day break.

woman dont get a period while pregnant, no matter what they say.

Its possible to have early pregnancy bleeding which may seem like a period, but its not.

  5. this is nothing to worry about! Some women experience this it is just your body getting used to the change. You may also experience some bleeding when your not on a break this is also normal. The bleeding should stop. You should try and study the leaflet that came with it, it will explain alot and tell you when you need to worry. You will no when you are pregnant even when you are on the pill all the normal signs and symptoms will still show and the pill wont effect any pregnancy test. If you carry on bleed at the rate you are now this this time next week them you should go to you doctors but im sure you will be fine.

  6. I didn't get my period for 7 days while on the pill as the first poster said. I only had a 4 day period on the pill...2 heavy days and 2 very light days. I was like that for almost 10 years. If you are taking the pill and using condoms properly then you have nothing to worry about.

It is normal for your period to do that.

  7. its just your body and hormones getting used to the pill
