On the way to recovery, Patrick Kane excited about upcoming season –NHL offseason Update
After fracturing his left wrist, Patrick Kane, was forced to undergo surgery on it during the 2011 National Hockey League (NHL) offseason, and is expected to fully recover within six to eight weeks, and might miss the opening of the new season, but nevertheless,
Kane is still excited about it and can hardly wait until it starts.
Now having to wear a cast for the next month and a half, it feels like it will never end for Kane who is extremely excited and anticipating the start of a new season.
"It's never fun to be walking around in a cast, especially since I'm going to have it on for six weeks", Kane said. "I'm two weeks down and a couple days. I keep counting the days to get this thing off".
Patrick Kane, a 22-year-old from Buffalo, New York, United States, was selected as the first overall during round-one of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by Chicago Blackhawks and will be entering his fourth consecutive season when it kicks off in October.
Last season, Kane was limited to 73 games due to another injury but still managed to put up a magnificent performance by scoring 73 points (27 goals, 46 assists).
According to Patrick Kane, this offseason is not like the one before it, mainly because last year’s offseason was a time to celebrate as they won their first Stanley Cup in over 30 years. This year, Chicago Blackhawks were eliminated in the first-round by
Vancouver Canucks in a major disappointment.
"I'm excited for the season, excited for where our team's at. A lot of good moves by the Hawks, getting our team where we need to be, adding a lot of maturity, experience, toughness -- which we probably lacked last year. I think we're going to be pretty
good. I think we're going to have another chance to win it again", Kan said about their rough past season.
This offseason will obviously be one to ponder up and work hard towards making a better impact next time around. Next season will allow them to prove once again to the world that they are a Stanley Cup winning team.
