Right now i have it set for 50% Jennison Value A and 50% Security Mid Cap A. I've been getting good returns, but would you recommend something else. If you don't feel like looking through all the investments below, than could you just give me some advice on how i should set it up. Thanks.

  1. Am century equity gro...bigger, solid, ben around long time,

    dont vary much yeer-tu-yeer,

& yet averaej retern better than most.

  2. I don't know about them but i located my 100K here , i have been 3 months with them , so far so good

  3. You should go to www.morningstar.com and research these yourself.  But I would go with

    45% Dreyfus s&p500 index

    10% Security mid cap

    05% Baron small cap

20% TRPrice International Growth & Income

    20% Pimco Total Return

  4. My short answer is TRP Retirement 2040 and then don't look at it again until you are 5 years from retirement.

My long answer is that the advisers for your 401(k) fund have given you too many choices and not enough advice.  The result of this (for most 401(k) participants) is a c**p shoot:  a lot of guessing and random choices while good solid well researched portfolio selection exists.

Fortunately for you, your company has done one thing correctly:  given you well managed, low cost, pre-selected portfolios as an option.

    Take it.

    And let it be.
