  1. Many people have been embarassed when they didn't know the microphone was on and listeners could hear what is really going on.

  2. probaly nothing

they probaly just do it to make it look good

  3. They're just comparing goldfish impressions.

  4. They make small talk with the understanding that a mic could still be hot so don't say anything you don't want broadcast.

  5. one is saying can you tell me when were off air i need to f**t, the other says tell me about it and my nickers are giving me a wedgie

  6. Good question. I've often thought about this.

I reckon they're chatting each other up or talking dirty. Or maybe discussing how blitzed they're going to get at the weekend.

I could just imagine some cheesy male news presenter asking the female news presenter something really awful like - 'so, do you come here often?' - the minute they know they microphone is off. And then her giggling away to herself just to look good on camera for the last few seconds.

Also, when a news presenter is on their own, do you notice how during the last few seconds, they dive straight onto their laptop and start typing away? I often wonder what they're looking at. Checking bids on Ebay perhaps, or seeing how their fantasy football team is doing. I'd love to know.

  7. "Fancy a drink?"
