  1. by landing clean unblocked punches with the knuckle section of the glove(in amateur boxing this part of the glove is white while the rest of the glove is either red or blue) to the lower stomach, chest, sides of torso, face, and forehead


  2. It not so much the areas it how many they land and how consistently they land them. Judges look for clean shots and offense. As you have seen once you get into the later rounds the pace slows down. The whole goal is to land punches in areas will you will wear down your oppenent. The judges will see this credit you with the round. Boxing is scored by 3 judges scoring a 10 point system. If you commit a foul like a rabbit punch or low blow it could be apoint deduction.
