If you call the police over something like a domestic disturbance but it stops before you finish talking to them and you tell them not to bother coming do they have to investigate anyway?

  1. no.  It depends on how much money the police dept has to waist on going to addresses where they are not needed.  Is your city rich?

  2. Depending on state laws/department policies, they may have to investigate.

Even if they are not required to, most officers will do so anyway. Once you invite the police to the party, it is hard to uninvite them.

  3. Yes, they will usually come out since you called.  If nothing is going on, they will just talk to you and leave.

  4. yes. if you call them they will come

  5. A domestic disturbance call often involves violence. The police will usually respond to ensure no one has been injured. If there has been no violence, no problem, quick talk and out of there. Of course this depends on the behavior of those involved.

  6. They have to investigate. When 911 is called over domestic disturbances, the police has to go to the house.

If someone is injured, they have to arrest someone.
