  1. Mid ship and near the water line will have the least amount of movement.

However, seasickness is caused by a conflict between your ears and your eyes.  If you are in your cabin, where you can not see the horizon, then your eyes will not see any movement.  However, your ears will sense the movement of the ship, and that can cause seasickness.

If you are outside, where you can see the horizon, and you can see the horizon moving, then your eyes and ears will be in agreement and you will not be as likely to get seasick.

I get seasick easily and I have never been seasick on a cruise ship (I have been on seven cruises).  In one case I did take ginger tablets (one before breakfast and one before dinner, both with water) and I was fine.  I heard that several people on that cruise did get seasick (though I did not witness any myself).

Also, understand that the cruise ships are big and have stabilizers.  This cuts down on a lot of the movement.

By the way, it is possible to get seasick when it is the eyes that see movement and the ears don't sense any, such as when you are sitting down playing a video game.  This happened to me once.

So, you want your eyes and ears to be sensing the same thing.  Also, eat bland foods (bread and crackers) that will also help.

  2. midship / middle floor.

best to see your doctor to get the seasick patch. it's a tiny plastic one inch patch you put somewhere concealed on our body and you absord the medicine slowly.  you can change after three days to another .  my mom gets those and she is very sensitive to vibrations / sea sicknesses/  they really help.

newer ships have more stabilizers.  ask travel agent about time of year and itinerary.   some sailings have rougher waters.

  3. In the centre and low down is the most stable, the higher you go and the closest to the side you will feel more of the roll.

  4. Midship! Forward and Back aft take most of the ups and downs. Get some Dramamine (Anti-nausea pills) before boarding. The first day can be the worst until you gain your SEA legs.
