  1. slow down because they are rough some times.... if the bells are ringing stop if the lights are flashing stop.... other than that just slow down a bit so you dont bounce

  2. slow down and look both ways

  3. Only certain vehicles are required to stop, such as school busses.  You aren't required to stop, but you should always slow down and look before crossing.  The arms might be broken, or slow.

You can take your driving test at any location.  If this is worrying you, try taking the test at a different location.  For example, here in California, we have a vast freeway system.  People who are afraid of freeways tend to take their tests at locations that are a bit far from the closest freeway.

  4. Yes, slow down and look both ways. I don't actually stop, just creep

  5. I've always considered it good practice to stop and look both ways.

    In fact, for a Class D / F endorsement, that's a requirement.

  6. If you see the flashing lights, then you should slow down and stop.

I live in the UK, and crossing railway tracks should be done in 3rd gear if you're driving a manual (assuming you're driving the "normal small hatchback" learner cars)

If you're driving an automatic, then I guess you just slow down and look.

  7. stop, look both ways and start up again slowly

  8. To be on the SAFE side I would STOP, LOOK both ways, and LISTEN.

  9. Hit the train.

  10. If the rail crossing is guarded with lights and gates, one does not have to slow down before crossing . If the crossing is unguarded (usually in rural areas), then it is best to stop and make sure that no train is approaching . In almost all cases, rail crossings are bumpy because of the track apron and the tracks themselves . Crossing them at speeds in excess of 25-35 mph can really wake up the shock absorbers on your vehicle . It is not a pass/fail criteria, but the license examiner would appreciate very much the driver's consideration for any passenger as well as the vehicle.
