On your resume...?

On your resume I know that you have to lay it out in 3 columns and that agents, casting directors etc. will look at the third column first but...

When you are writing your resume do you include things like school plays or pantomimes or only professional work i.e. paid work???

  1. If you have professional work that gets listed first. If you have enough professional work  (which is the ideal) to not have room left for your school performances that is fantastic. But most people when first starting out have more school and community theatre then professional work to add to their resume. So do add those. It is experience and that counts for something. You should continue to try to get work outside of school and build up your resume and slowly knock the school credits off of there.

The agents will take a closer look the more professional experience you get under your belt.   And this may be a given. But NEVER lie on your resume. More people have been busted doing this then you can imagine.
