On youtube is there anyway to delete old searches that have been typed in the searchbox?

When you type something in the search box every single old search comes up and it's getting annoying. Can they be deleted?

Delete your history/ auto-complete history in your internet explorer tools - internet options, works for me

Yes, Highlight them with your mouse, and while they are highlighted press the delete key.
