  1. Once there is a winner , wait til you receive payment from them and then ship to there address/

  2. I have never sold an item on e-bay but,  I would think you send it to the winner ,  not e-bay.    I have purchased items from e-bay,  and the items comes from the seller.

  3. You ship it to the address of the person who paid, and only after you have received conformation of payment

  5. if you have received the payment from the winning bidder, you ship the item to the address that the bidder gave you.

  6. EDIT:  Just because you have received payment from someone doesn't guarantee that the payment is good.  If you have received payment in the form of a check, cashiers check, or money order, you should wait until these items clear before you ship the items out.

    If the item is paid for through paypal, then you can rest assured you have been paid and it's safe to ship the item out.

    I have indicated this in my answer below.

    This is the answer to part 1 of your question (when to ship the item out);

    Depending on how you make the winning bidder pay will determine when the item is shipped out.

    If you accept paypal (and that is your only option of payment) then, as soon as you have received your payment (you'll need to log on to your paypal account to see if payment has gone through or check your email because paypal will send you an email to indicate payment has gone through) then you ship the item out right away.

    If you have decided upon checks or money order for payment as well and the winning bidder has opted to pay that way, then wait for either to clear (money orders can be counterfeited as well) and then ship the item out.

    Now, if you send your item out and it was paid through paypal, get signature confirmation (it's always wise to get signature confirmation anyways) to protect yourself from the winning bidder saying they never received the item.

    This is the answer to part 2 of your question--who to ship the item to (and it's never ebay headquarters):

    As far as where to ship the item, always ship to a physical address (that the winning bidder provides you with).  Never ship to a P.O. box.

    If they have paid through paypal, then only ship to their paypal address.

    Here is a tidbit of information for you.  If you ship FedEx ground, those drivers are independent contractors.

    Anytime you go into a FedEx office to have your item shipped and you ship it ground, the ground bill has nothing about do you want to have a signature or not.  If you ship it air, the air bill has a place on the form to indicate if you want a signature or not.

    Your best bet is the post office (as long as your package is within the size limits that the post office will accept) simply because if there is any kind of theft, the post office will conduct an investigation.  If you ship any other way, even the police won't get involved.

    If you are shipping a high ticketed item, the post office will ask you what you are shipping (if the item is expensive and you ask for insurance, the post office will ask what you are shipping and they will tell you how to ship the item) whereas FedEx and UPS aren't necessarily as good at protecting you.

    The nice thing about the post office is this.  If you are shipping an expensive item, they will recommend registered mail because each  person that touches your package must sign that they have handled it and that is why their insurance is so much better than FedEx or UPS.
