Question:

Once again, do you really think this dog is half wolf half malamute?

Wild wolves do NOT have blue eyes. They range in shade from pale yellow to honey to almond brown. Never blue (I've researched and talked to wolf experts about this because I've been obsessed with wolves for almost ten years, and remember finding it disappointing because blue is my favorite color.) If someone comes across a wolf in captivity that has blue eyes, it certainly has some dog mixed in. If you don't believe me, look it up or check out this page:

Alaskan Malamutes can have blue eyes, but it's very rare, because blue eyes are a recessive trait, and it is considered a fault in the show ring.

This DOG actually looks almost exactly like a Siberian husky/Akita mix I babysat.

    It's hard to say.

Wolf dogs absolutely can NOT be trusted.  Wolves cannot be domesticated and are very dangerous, as are wolf hybrids.

The dog sure is attractive, though.

  5. I had a shepherd/timber mix, he was very smart, extremely protective and predatory to the point where I moved to the country so that he could roam at will and not engage any domestic animals.  He was magnificent.

I sponsored buffalo wolves for years, check them out some time.

  6. Well dog are originally wolfs they breed until the different breeds came about and i know thing cause i read a book about dogs ages ago

  7. Your picture link is broken..

  8. You're 100% wrong.

Wolves of any distinction can have a wide range of eye color, including the hues of blue.

Malamutes, too, can have blue eyes. However its considered to be a fault, and breeders breed the trait OUT. If a pup has blue eyes, the dog is fixed and disqualified from breeding standards.

Being obsessed with wolves and working hand-to-hand with them are two different things. When you've stepped off of the computer and worked to tag and track these animals, and when you've done about six hundred hours of service in wolf sanctuaries, you can tell me that wolves don't have blue eyes. Blue eyes in wolves are genetic mutations, much like that of dogs with dual or tri-colored eyes.

    Try. Again.

ADD> AHAHAHA! Look who got their panties all in a bunch because they know nothing about genetics and can't keep a story straight! Aww, time for a nappy!

  9. Please guys let me put my 2 pennies worth in.

Pure breed Alaskan Malamutes NEVER EVER have blue eyes!!!

Yes they do have a dormant blue eye gene but if this gene is active in one out of a million dogs!!!!! How likely is it that you find one Mal with blue eyes or as some BYB put it a litter with blue eyes!!!

    Sorry rant over.
