Sourav won Castrol cricketer of the year and best batsman award for his outstanding comeback during the last year. If Sourav wants to achieve something he gets it. Still he is out of the current ODI team. Its a sad story of Indian cricket.

  1. I dont think Ganguly is needed, now that Sehwag, Sachin and Gambhir are doing well at the top. Maybe Dravid is needed in the inexperinced middle order.

But india hasnt played a decent side for more than 4 months

  2. Well ,after the sooooo gr8 comeback, he deserves to be in team, i dnt get why he is out, youth is fine but how can u ignore a person who has got 10,000++ runs for India,,and hes still in best form he could be,..

Hes no doubt the  best.. he can never be forgotten and ignored..

    Ganguly rules.

  3. You are right but what can be done about it? Life is never fair and poor Ganguli has to accept it. He is getting out perhaps when he is at his best but Sachin may not be that lucky if he waits for too long.

  4. he is till good

  5. Its a sad story of India as also Indian  cricket.

    Congratulations to Ganguly.

  6. yea he should be in the ODI team. he even said it himself that age should not be a criterion when selecting a team. look at sanath jayasuriya for example.

  7. Congratulations to him.

  8. YES he is good batsmen and brilliant captain

  9. Indeed. That man is really determined to turn against the circumstances. He proved himself, played well, got runs. But still, he can only do that & if the selectors forcebly try to end his career, then its a shame.

  10. The most outstanding aspect of Sourav dada is his strong will power. If the Bengal Tiger makes up his mind to do something, he will do it-no one can stop him. He well deserved the cricketer of the year award as he was the 2nd highest run scorer in test cricket after Jacques Kallis, with a total of 1106 runs in test cricket(avg. 61.44), and the 4th highest scorer in ODI with a total of 1240 runs (avg 44.28).  The year 2007 indeed belonged to Sourav dada.

It's funny that the batsman who was the 4th highest run scorer in ODI is again out of the ODI squad. Nothing could have been more unfortunate than this man being humiliated, inspite of proving himself time and again. Sourav has proved enough. There is no need for him to give any more tests to show his worth, as he states: "I don't need to prove to the world that I can play." This was the worst case of blatant injustice that has been meted out to Dada by the jokers in the form of selectors and the politician MS Dhoni. Anyway, Ganguly wasn't there to recieve the award, which was recieved by his wife on his behalf.  Only a few people like Sourav, most others hate him-but none dares to ignore him. It's his fighting spirit which makes me his fan, apart from anything else.
